It's a damn shame to see no decent aftermarket solutions for the SC

And it's the same for tail-lights really. Two cheap looking options that don't really fit the car and a $2000+ nicely made LED tail-light, which is hard to justify on most incomes but is worth every penny.

I agree about the spoilers. I've always preferred the duck bill look over ones with a gap, unless they're full-on functional wings.
The front bumper and lip spoiler could also be added to the list of newer and different, but not necessarily better.

It seemed like when my SC was at it's peak four years ago there was a lot more parts available. I didn't have trouble finding the stuff I wanted if it was the authentic parts. Even the classifieds here on Club Lexus had better stuff up for sale. I'm in the process of redoing my car now and all of those same parts are either super rare or way too expensive to purchase. I see a lot of cheap replica crap now.
Stuff like aftermarket taillights and headlights have always sucked for the SC. Nobody ever made anything besides the Supra tails and those red/clear ones. The route I went was to make my own custom lighting setups or pay someone to make a custom set. There have never been any good aftermarket lights unless you go to Japan.
As far as body parts and kits go Extreme Dimensions has been putting out some good stuff which I hear fits pretty good. If there was a enough interest in a particular part they may work on making it. Shine Auto has their Auto Couture replica kit and it's pretty good. There isn't much else from what I've seen as far as affordable body parts go. I haven't seen any new stuff from Japan either.
My guess is that it will only gets worse unless the SC becomes super popular. It seems like SC's have lost their popularity while the IS and GS maintained theirs. It's weird because it seems like my LS430 has better aftermarket support now.

I agree that i wish there where more options out there but.
Engine wise 2jz crowd is good.Jdm muscle needs a bit more.
Suspension components I think we are good to as we share some with mk4 chassis.
Interior.........super lacking.
Exterior ok here is the problem there are options few from the states and few from japan, but with the lack of interest to think outside the box it limits them all to copy/modify the 97+ style because any other style is not what "most" of the sc300/400 crowd like. So the blame is on us the consumers for been so 97+ or gtfo. I may be 100% wrong in my opinion but when you look around if its not a Vertex/BM/AC/or 97+ with or with out lip kit. It rarely gets a second look here and in the fb community.
I like all of them. And appreciate a modded car regardless of what it is.
I actually like the ebay headlights LOL. Don't have them but i like them. Hate the altezza style tails though!!!!!hahaha
Nice lil rant btw hahaha

I'm all for what you just said sir. Although I have put 97+ body parts on my car. I liked my 93 with the factory stuff as well. I just prefer the look of the 97+ side skirts and front bumper more than my stock 92. And yes it does suck *** that 90% are if its not newer like you said than GTFO!!. I'm not a huge fan of the Vertex stuff. I prefer OE. But I can say I prefer the older style tail lights over the 97+ I like the more simple I guess. But I wish I had more to do to my SC as well. Sometimes I don't make sense and that's what makes me dollars!

Any jdm classic is always harder to get aftermarket parts, he's acting like it's news. move to Japan and you won't find a shortage with classic parts. Or buy a classic American car to access the unlimited parts here, or buy a new jdm car and you should be good for a good 20 years of aftermarket stuff.

I like the 95/96 style & prefer To keep with that. Most all of the body kits I have looked at tend to make me think the designer watched to many Star wars movies, I don't want my car to look like a Ti Fighter. The kit that has caught my eye is one from Karina (think I spelled that right) It complements the lines of the car & looks like it could have been a OEM offer if the factory had chose that. Tho I don't like the Facia cover they offer. The kit I looked @ comes with front air dam & requires a stock facia for fitment. As far as the E-bay crap for lights, they can keep them.

Most aftermarket companies have moved on from SC3/400 parts because they just aren't very profitable anymore. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
Look at it this way:
8 years ago, people would pay top dollar for parts like intake manifolds, carbon hoods, aero and wheels. Companies like Vertex, BN Sports, Wisesports, all made parts and people would wait months to get them. Well, the replica companies noticed this, and carbon copied the kits. Around 5 years ago, you could get almost any normal bodykit for less than half the price from ilovebodykits.com. After the first couple runs people like vis and extreme dimensions correct most of the defects and word gets out that the kits aren't all that bad. New people enter the SC scene and ask what to get, and most people steer them towards the rep kits instead of the real ones. Prices start to rise on the japanese kits because production has slowed almost to a standstill (can't mass produce a kit if no one is buying it). A couple years later a new person joins and all they're told is the rep kits are all thats available. Sure the japanese have some good widebody kits, but they're around $3000 while the fake widebody's are only $1000. At one point, the japanese company stops making parts, or goes out of business.
The rep companies get all the money now. But there's a problem. Rep companies have no R&D department. They just clone what other companies make. The unpopular molds are destroyed (if it's no profitable, why make it?). That leaves us to the choices we have today.
The short answer is that the newest / youngest generation of SC owners doesn't have the income to spur the development of new parts. There are exceptions to this every now and again (like ED working on this vented TS style hood) but in the end if a certain number of people DON'T buy a certain number of parts it will become a limited production run and prices will start to rise. And/or the part will never make it to market.
I hear Figs is working on after market control arms for the SC3/400. I see a lot of interest in them. But I'm willing to bet that when the final price is announced people are going to say the price is too high
