HWwata??

Do you mean the entire set of everything? There are two caps, two rotors, 1 wire set and 8 plugs.

How could this be $600?

lots of dealers charge list price, which is outrageous -

Carson Toyota:

8 Denso oem platinum plugs $52.24
2 rotors $14.88
wireset $90.98
2 caps $19.68
Ship $10.00
sales tax $0

total $187.78

on the 400 it's toward the front of the engine on top... it looks like a square piece with a little dome on it.

There are 2 screws that hold the ignition coil in place and a clip. This piece needs to "snap" into place. Because it gets dirty and or by age the firmness of the clip is lost over the years thus less contact in the electrical connection.

Which clip are you referring to? I just removed my coil and everything looks fairly clean? Here are a few pics of the coil off my SC400.

Default Same here

I have the same looking thing on my SC300 and i just cleaned the hole that the wire (metal thing) goes into. But I'm sure that didnt make a difference because it was NOT dirty anyway.

Just so you all know, there's actually 2 coils - one on top of the motor towards the pax side, and one near the driver's side exhaust manifold towards the front. Unless the coil is bad or you had a lot of corosion on the contacts, I really don't see how this could make any noticeable difference in power.

the plastic clip. It was corroded and dirty. It also failed about 10k miles later.
