Default Another door stuck closed...

Just purchased an SC400, and I bought it for cheap because the passengers side door was stuck closed. Interior door handle was broken and didn't open the door, and neither did the exterior door handle. I was able to pull back the NM condition panel without breaking anything and so I have access to the sides of the door from the top. I have read every thread on this issue I could find on google and so far, I have not seen this exact problem.
The door just won't open. The lock seems to work, the plastic clip is not broken, however, the actuator rod feels disconnected at the bottom. Connected to the exterior handle (where the clip goes) the rod feels fine but when I try and open the door manually using the rod, it simply will not open. How can I open the door without the rod? Seems to work/move the way intended, but the door is just stuck closed. Any ideas?

I probably will need another door actuator...we'll see how it works after I lube it.

Thanks for the suggestions! I was pulling pretty hard, but I will try again today. It's a project just to get into the passengers side!

Pulled the cable(s) really hard with my hands and pliers, nothing. Door lock works, actuator bar feels very loose.

The question here is how to open the door with a stuck actuator.

press down on the door rod hard, if that doesnt work, get a hammer and chisel and break the actuator apart from the inside. will take patience and small hands.

Thanks for the assistance.

For about an hour I've been moving that actuator bar up and down and it will not open the door. I greased the parts I could get to, locks seem to work, interior handle mechanism seems to work, the actuator just seems frozen. I'd love to take it apart but I have no room to work/see anything. There was another smaller rod, is this for the locks? I wasn't able to locate a good diagram.

Thanks!

Small rod is for the lock cylinder, make sure it is unlocked.

This might be my issue. The rod is just frozen, not moving any direction.I'll report back what I find.

Got the door open. It took 2 people to do so. While I held the actuator rod in the handle hole (where the plastic lip was broken), another person from outside pulled on the handle and turned the key to unlock over and over and it popped open after several tries. Keep in mind, this was't without spraying penetrating oil in every nook and cranny available by the actuator. If you move the rubber weatherstripping with a putty knife, you can get the oil in there, directly on the actuator. Right now I have the parts soaking in penetrating oil. I still have to figure out whats going on with the actuator, though.

So the sega continues as they say...so the interior cable/handle works fine and opens the door now that it's lubed, but once I connect the outside handle to the actuator rod, the interior handle won't budge. Does this mean the actuator is bad?

Old thread bump, I know but I'm still having issues. Here is a video of what is happening. Door opens great both sides now but when opening from the interior, the exterior handle moves (opens) along with it...bizarre. Bent rod? Any more input is appreciated.

Sorry for the crappy quality video.

make sure the cable is not routed along the rods, and that th rods are not incorrectly overlapping one another.

ISSUE 100% FIXED: Finally...I spent hours ditsing around with that actuator and then my dad walks up and within a few minutes diagnoses the possible problem. His idea was indeed the issue. The part of the rod that encircles the "hamburger type" piece was bent. It would slide up and down when free but while hooked up to the exterior handle, the bar was forced one way and the lower portion of the bar was bent preventing the encircling part of the rod to move freely between the "hamburger buns" (for lack of a better term) when the handle was used.

Now it works like new. Thanks all.
