Default I just saved a bunch of money!!

If your not currently using your car as a DD and have full coverage. check it!!!
Hagerty it taking our cars with collector insurance!!! Scweet!

I got 6k in direct replacement full coverage and covers me, my body and the people your with at car shows, Your tools, and spare parts. and some other stuff for $501 a year! thats like half of what ive been paying for the cars insurance.

Mods this is not a sales pitch, just mad money savings YO!!.

I don't know if they have a year cut off but I have a 93 5speed, that may or may not be based on production numbers. I dunno. I got a quote directly from them but then went through my agent and hooked it up from there.

-sucky part is you have to pay the whole year in one shot.
-Provide detailed pics, Like I havent done that already!
-and prove you have another car as a DD
-oh and tell them you dont let the wife drive it. (saved a few bucks)

Anyway just thought Id throw a heads up to anyone who has the fear of getting hit by an idiot and having an insurance adjuster offer you 2 grand and try to total out your ride. boo.

Not bad at all, as long as they come through with the cash when something does happen.
I'm paying 450 for my 00 400 and my 95 land land cruiser.
I know it's only a liability, but most companies only cover the other cars and too quick to total yours, so they don't have to pay. It's sad but oh well

Thats kinda why I looked into them cause they only do collector cars, and it says guaranteed value. I also knew a cat that got backed into at a show and they repaired the damage with his shop of choice no questions asked. If anything ever happens to my car, god forbid, I will be sure to update the process on this page. (I realised that I probably jinxed myself since my coverage start date is May 8th) daammn!

I've heard a lot of the Supra guys use Hagerty. They had a lot of good things to say about them too.

I might look into it since I've got some expensive parts on my SC and I've only put 6,000 miles on it in three years. I've currently got State Farm and they really suck sometimes. They raise and drop my rates all the time. At the same time they have better prices than everyone else.

Used them when I had a 1985 Mercedes 380SL for a year, and it only cost me like $250. They are a great company

I already had been aware of that, but don't want to limit the use of my SC, I could also go classic plates on it which would also give a big insurance break, but once again that would limit use of the car to an extent. I bought it to drive & want to drive it when I want to. Once it gets back up in value & recognized collector value then that becomes a more viable option, such as with some of my other cars. The limited manufacture of the car helps.

They said yes when I had a third SC but now that I have just two, they said no. My wife has a license and they want to see a daily for each of us other than the classic even though she takes the commuter train to work every day. I'll call and try again. I even said she does not drive the 5 speed EVER!

Good going, ems!

I like what I've learned about Hagerty. If you don't put average mileage on your car, have a garage with a door and do have a dedicated other vehicle for daily driving, they appear to be near the top. Alternatively I've also heard good things about Grundy, who are similar but might allow about 10k miles/yr maximum. Have to check on that.

That said, I've been with State Farm for over twenty years and they have treated me well with a 60's classic, Honda and my SC. It's getting an agreed value policy from them which is the thorny part. Always kept ALL receipts for EVERYTHING and this was what helped tremendously. They've always been good to me, however in the future I will likely look into Hagerty like you, ems, or Grundy because at this point it's so many receipts the car really does need an appraisal and stated value policy.

... Though the notes you guys have mentioned about Hagerty not liking a spouse driving the car did raise my eyebrows. That wouldn't fly as acceptable with me unless there were a good reason for it.

They don't mind a spouse driving, they just want to see a daily for each licensed person outside of the classic.

^^ Ah, okay. Thanks for clarifying. I misunderstood completely and that makes a lot more sense.
