i get 200-250 miles per tank.
in my sc400. Theoretically, i should be getting at least 18 mpg * 18 gallons per tank, so 324 miles per tank. I dont drive crazy, transmission on normal, etc. This is pretty ridiculous. It is a 94 with 60k on it, however. Ideas on what the problem is? I'm guessing 02 sensors and the like, and the car is still under warranty for the next 6 months so I want to have as much replaced as possible before it expires.

I've a 92 SC400 with 162k miles, drive about 2500 to 3000 miles each month, half in the city, half on the highway -- I'm a real estate appraiser -- and average about 22-23 mpg. I go 75-80mph on the highway. I haven't babied this car, but its powertrain is in great shape, and it's been a real workhorse. I'm going for the half-million mark!

500,000 is a long way away...it will be another 9 to ten years before you get there...even if you keep your fast pace of 3000 miles a month...lol

I sold my SC400 a few months ago (and am going to be looking for another in a few months). But I rarely got less than 21 mpg, even in strictly city driving. Even when I gave her a whippin I'd get 20. And the most I got (which I think I've posted numerous times a few pages back) is about 25.5, which is an impressive number all things considered. But I never the tank down to where I needed to put more than 18 or 19 gallons in it (except for when I ran out of gas). I hear that's bad for it. Anyway, I've been away from the forums for a while. It's good to be back posting. I'm looking for a 95-96 silver or black SC4 with black interior and 100k miles or less. Also looking to spend less than 10k. Good to be back!
