If your tire is stock height, then the gear ratio is uneffected.

Weight does not have that much effect.
Tires have mayor effect on the gas milage. Wider the tire equal more rolling resistance.

Did you guys ever watched gas milage competition? Everybody there rides on pizza cutter tires.

I have SC400 few weeks now I`m gettin 300 miles per tank. It sucks.

I will be looking first at my O2 sensors, injectors, fuel pressure. Booger we do not use gas analiser anymore since county do not require it. This would be the best test.

Anyway, I think you guys should give wheel/ tire setup and crusing speed together with gas milage to make comparo relevant.

I run 245/40ZR18s, crusing at 80mph.... that is 300miles from tank

the larger the diameter of the wheel, the larger the rotation pattern of the unsprung weight More rotatng dead weight = lot's more effort to get it stopped and going.

put which SC you have (300, 400) and just the number of miles you get to the tank.
Ok, I just wanna say that I started looking at this thread about 5 minutes ago when it was titled "Gas Mileage" by Suprast4R. My computer goofed up, I signed back on, and it was gone, soon to be found under The Ceo's ancient thread "ok. . .I got 452 miles to a tank" or something like that. For a good few mintues I thought I was losing my mind until my dumb a$$ realized the new thread was combined with The Ceo's old thread. . .

I'm gettin approximately 22mpgs in my new SC400. I just got the plugs, wires, caps and rotors changed this weekend so we'll have to see if it climbs. I drive with the ECT on normal and I'm relatively easy on the car.

Use an Apex'i S-AFC, run the fuel 10% lean, and keep the rpms below 4000 (Apparently running lean improves the performance anyway).

I have an 93 sc300 (65k miles) and am getting 230 miles per tank. Mainly city driving. But I'm easy on the car. I have done a tune-up at 55k miles with all lexus parts. The car is bone stock. Even the rims. What can I do. I have also cleaned the PCV Valve, that i read on one of the treads.

People are still asking about gas mileage for the sc3 and sc4 so i figured we might as well bounce this one up one more time...

I love the car so much, but with the gas prices in Los Angeles I'm thinking of selling the car.

Default Gas Prices

smelkony
You think the prices on gas are high in LA.
Come up to Canada in Vancouver we are pay $4.23 CDN for a Gallon of premium gas.
In Europe the price is now over $5,55 US for a gallon of premium gas.
