Got your messages Ryan.
I am not a tranny builder nor claim to know much. Looking at your pictures, the damage on the face of the rear seal clearly tells me that the front half of the drive shaft is too far in ... so it was rubbing into the face of that seal and also explains the reason why it was touching the rear splash shield / cup. The cup being bent should probably not even be a problem if driveshaft was not too far in or the yoke was just flushed with the end of the cup. I still recommend having a cup/shield. It prevents water from splashing into that area and causing corrosion. There was a reason why Toyota got that thing there.
With regards oil on the bell housing, if that oil is not coming from the rear main seal at the back of your engine, then I guess it is coming from the tranny input shaft which is a totally different problem from the rear leaks. The picture with oil under the input shaft tells me it is coming from that area.
With regards your question about disclosing the condition of the bellhousing during the sale negotiation, that I will let Omar explain why it was not disclosed.
Just talk things over with him.

I just want a full refund now because I am afraid that this be a reoccurring problem with the transmission...
The fact of the matter is that its not a good tranny as it was supposed to be...plain and simple
It is not my responsibility to take the transmission back to freed and wait for the repairs.....Thats not what I bought.
I bought a good working transmission.....Now the seller will not want to refund me the money

When I bought this tranny, there was nothing stipulated that I have to deal with Freed.
All I know is that I drove 4 hrs to go buy a good working transmission...I already had let the bellhousing pass for which I was left in the dark about until I got there..
I didnt want to go back home and trek the 4 hr drive empty handed..
NOW to deal with freed engineering is not something that I want to do because I am not sure now if this will be a reoccurring problem..
All I really want now is to get my money back since clearly this is not what I paid for

Before this thread goes out of hand , let me remind every one that you are allowed to post problems and experiences so others may learn more , especially if what you are posting is about our cars. Let me make it clear to every one, calling out or bashing out someone in public is not allowed in our forum. Usually these kind of problems are better resolved through phone calls, text messages or PMs.
Ryan - I know how frustrating it is to be on this situation . I completely understand you . Just give the seller more time to make it right. At the end of the day, you can ask the mods or administrator to help mediate if your trading partner continue to ignore your calls or text messages.
I hope I don't see this thread in the wrong direction that we as mods will be forced to edit or delete posts or even close the thread.

I really thought that this was going to be one of the best r154's out to to purchase......that is why I did not hesitate to go and buy it.
The seller will not give a refund....but has offered the following:
I would agree to the above if a new rubber isolator was included because mine was ruined due to incorrect driveshaft and a undamaged bellhousing....

- Bring the transmission back to Freed engineering and allow them to go over the transmission and replace all the seals....This also would give me the ability to see inside the case and watch it being put back together in person....
- Purchase a MK3 Front Shaft to replace the incorrect one I was given...

I am done with this transmission......something is wrong with it why would it be leaking from the input shaft?
