Drove my SC to a Ghost Town (pics)
I went to a Bodie Night Photography Workshop over the Memorial wkd. Bodie is a Ghost Town which is a state park now on the other side of Yosemite at the Nevada border. I took the route over Sonora Pass, aka Vietnam Veterans Hwy from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Nevada border in my SC 400. I'd like to share pics of the Pass & Bodie w the forum

The Ghost Town pics
When the park closed they opened it for our workshop. We were only a handfuf and we had the park to ourselves "w limits" from 6 to 1am. I was in a Ghost Town at midnight. It was a Great adventure, loved every minute. The night sky at 9,000 ft with no city lights, all I can say is amazing
A word about the SC I've had it most of its life, I've never had a problem. Its got over 250 k miles on it & it just went up and down 10,000 ft twice without a hiccup. I clicked on the after burner more than a few times a/c was fine. I don't mind driving the hell out of it. It doesn't mind either, it loves to run.
I get comps all the time like you guys. I got a thumbs up at a Ghost Town, Bodie (of all places). I can't see ever getting rid of my SC

Great pics - thanks for sharing....
Encouraging to see snow in late May even at 9000 feet for very dry California.

OK, so it's a posed shot from about 20 weeks ago. Not shown are my '92 SC400 with BBS wheels (bronze), or my basket case '95 SC400, just baked in the desert a few decades...my practice car. Plates show which is which (2-300's, 4-400's).
Was terrified of crunching 2 at once...next time I'll have a spotter!
10 ft ceiling is JUST high enough, a few inches clearance for each on 4-post stand.

I'm not sure how this thread came around again but because its here I thought I'd post my favorite Bodie photo. I call it:
"Road to Perdition" after the great Tom Hanks and Paul Newman movie

It was such a Kool experience I went back a 2nd time. In the daytime and even became a Bodie Society member
Because I was at Bodie and saw the night sky really for the 1st time I went back to the top of Sonora Pass, Sierra Nevada and photographed this.
This is what the night sky and Milky Way look like at 10,000 ft

Joe (I'm also Coast)...get it. ha ha
