Default Pics of Aftermarket HU?

Would anyone be kind enough to post pics of their aftermarket headunit? Please let us know if you used "a kit" or had/made a custom vinyl'ed woodpiece. After going to about 5 places in two days, most said they could get a kit, but I prefer the custom look. Just dont want it to be the single din radio with a huge plain black piece, but I would like to see that. PS. Trunk pics would be great as well.

Here you go... a pic of mine. The space is still left blank because I'm planning on fitting a boost controller (most probably an A'PEXi AVC-R) in that space.

I like the way your HU is flush-mounted, Soarer.
My Alpine CDA-9813 sticks out about 1/4 inch... and it looks darn ugly.

Thanx ChronoJ1

Yeah I'm pretty happy with the install, only thing is there's a tiny gap on the side of the HU, as the bracket that comes with the HU wouldn't fit, but yeah it basically sits flush, IMO it doesn't look too out of place in the Soarer/SC... suits it a lot at night as well with the 3D dash and all Ahhh you gotta love gizmos... hehe

It's not perfect, but it certainly does the job and doesn't look to bad.

I've just got a piece of plastic in the .5 DIN hole under the HU

Nice set up Daniel... what type of plastic did you use for the .5DIN space? Looks smooth

You going on the cruise to Wollongong on the 24th? (BTW it's Jose from the ALSC).

Is the Alpine 9813 a bad pick? I was going to pick one up this week and get it installed? I saw a couple other people on here that have alpine decks in their cars and I thought it looked pretty good?

I decided to get my an aftermarket HU when my cd changer decided to break on me... Anyway, I'm getting the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X869, which has two faces, it drops down and kinda makes a double DIN, so it should fill the space up alittle more than a single din, then under it, I believe the people at Tweeter are going to get some plexiglass and do some type of LEXUS thing behind the plexiglass, Im not quite sure, but it'll look good. I'll post pics later this week when it gets finished.

The player itself is awsome, but I guess the audio shop didn't do a good job installing the unit.
