Headlight Polishing Kit Actually Works before / after pics
I was leery of using one of the headlight polishing kids but I was in autozone the other day and they had the Turtles brand kit on sale for $9.99 and figured I would give it a shot. My sc300 headlights were so bad you could barely see thru them. The turtles had a three stages with the second being if the first didn't get them clean enough and but I ended up not doing the 2nd stage just the 1st and third. You can see from the pics the kit actually did a great job and didn't take hardly any time. I plan on getting yellow lamin-x covers later this week so this should be the last time I have to do this. I had them on my sc400 for 5 years and never had to polish them.
Make sure to use something to protect the headlight from UV rays. You have removed a large layer of the original protectant that became clouded with age, so it's going to become yellow(and fairly quickly) if you do not treat it. I've seen them become yellow again within a couple of months when they go untreated.

He should be fine, he mentioned plans on using a permanent headlight cover within a week.
Polishing alone typically doesn't remove the factory UV coating. Sanding is the issue that causes frequent yellowing, so if anyone does sand their headlights down to clear the yellowing away then yes a fresh clearcoat, UV coating, or permanent headlight cover is necessary. But after just polishing you can typically get away with just regular waxing (3-4 times a year) which is enough to keep them looking fresh.

Do what I did. Now that they look like new, spray them with several coats of clear coat. I did that and mine still look new after about 2 years. And that's in Texas weather.
Actually the stage 3 part was to seal so it protected from reoccurring. Here is a pic of my buddies FRS that has the yellow this is what Im going to get on mine. I had there clear blue on my sc400 for a long time and never had to polish only thing I had to do was wash and I never did have a problem with them fading again.
I ended up using the mothers kit. Came with sanding pads, prep pad and buffer. Hooked it up to my drill and got to work. Granted I probably went over board. But they came out great. Currently researching the film to protect.
I was going to go ebay projectors, but I honestly like the styling of oem.
