Default cluster needles

i just replaced my cluster and found out that it was a cluster from the 95 and up, since it had the amber bulbs. after reading up on the cluster searches i found out that the rpm and the speedo wouldnt work properly on my 92. is there a way i can take the needles out of the 95 cluster and put them on the 92 cluster ? or should i leave it the way it is ? thanks for all you help.

Well the speedo problem alone would make me consider fixing or replacing the cluster. Where did you get it from? Is there anyway to exchange it for a 92 cluster or was it from ebay, the classifieds from CL or any place you can get it changed? I'd find a way to fix it if I can get a different cluster. Is your speedo dead or not giving the right speed? Either way if I was in your posititon I would try to get it fixed as soon as possible. Too many speeding tickets already.

i got the cluster from my friend. at first i didnt know they made different clusters, i only found out when i did a search for "removing cluster" that different clusters were made from different cars, and i knew that the cluster i had was a newer one since it had back amber lights. i didnt drive the car after i installed the cluster, but when i started the car, the rpm idle was around 1200-1300 which i dont think its the right idle. as for the speed im going to see if it deviates a lot from norm, if it does i might just change the needles. thanks for you help jimmit

Hey, when you replaced the cluster did it carry over your actual mileage or does it show a different mileage.
