those cars aint all that, it has way too much understear, so you cant drift much in those cars.
i drove one, and tried to drift a turn, and the car was all over the place.
even with Tein HA suspension.
sports car are great, but i feel more confortable driving a luxary car around. plus they're pimp and the chicks jocks.

what forums you chill in?

concidering he said he had a hardtop and a turbo its a MKII sense the MKI was supercharged not turbo as far as I know ,,, and the new MR-S are convertable ... also drifting slows you down you really dont' want to drift around truns other than for fun? also there is so much weight on the rear wheels oh and the Tein HA is one of the worst suspension kits for the Mr2 or so I have heard the suspention on them is very delicate so I wouldn't be supprized if the tein ha messed something up .... go talk to the mr2 guys at some of the forums they dont' recomend the tein kits.

why arn't MKII's that great? they own in lots of autoX ! just wondering why you think that.

Maybe one of the guys that did a 6 speed swap might have more info.

it doesn't need to be lengthened ... maybe hammered to make a little taller but not wider and then the shifter opening need to be lengthened. drive shaft shortened ... and I did ask a bunch of the turbo 5 speed guys they didnt' know the tranny was different. at least none that I talked to.

mounts are the same for 5 and 6 speed. 99% sure bellhousing and rear support bracket.
thanks

Understeer and MR2 are not words usually in the same sentence, They have excellent grip and wicked oversteer when you don't know what your doing or exceed you grip level(as I and two of my wheels can attest to). Like Brian said drifting is fun as hell but serves very little purpose on the race track, I cant think of the last time I saw professional drivers drift around a turn perhaps with the exception of Rally especially on those hairpins they love to yank that hand break.

Let me say I think it would be awesome if someone took a 5sp SC up to 300rwhp N/A and got it down to a respectable weight 3000-3200 maybe and balance it out a little better would be a devastating machine. That or just through a LS1 in there a rule everyone. =)

did you know that or did you read the thread (cause no one else knew!)

anyways the tranny is from a 95 Sc300 which started using the same transmission as the 93-98na in 95.

I had to swap over the entire rear assembly and now its working beautifully!

thanks

Brian, could you post a picture comparing the two bellhousings from the different style transmissions? Or just confirm that they are the same. I sent you a pm about this as well. Thanks a lot.
