I have a 92 SC400. I just modded a pair of 95/96 tail lights to have 50/50 red/clear lenses. I also swapped out the harness with the 95/96 one that came with the tail lights. I replaced a couple of burnt out bulbs. Now when I turn on the park and/or headlights, the cluster light goes out. When I turn them off, the cluster light comes back on. I inspected the harness and all is fine. Do I need the tail light sensor for the 95/96? Any help would be great, thanks.

I was just going to post my own thread related to this...

I have a 1994 sc300 and i just installed tail lights from a 1995 sc400. I did not change the wiring harness, and my blinkers blink fast. I know the fix involves wiring up a resister or a hidden bulb, I can't seem to find a guide for it though.

For my issue, I had the brightness **** for the cluster light turned to the lowest setting because the LED bulbs in the gauge cluster are really bright. I turned it up and problem solved! I was so glad it was that simple. I will probably fix the hyper-flashing at some point.

Thanks for the link to that guide. I really need to get to that, I hate the fast blinkers.

How often do you use turn signals to begin with......I have the fast blinkers on my 92 sc300 with 95 tails.....its not a big deal at all....fyi it will pass inspection like that as well

Most other cars do this mod to fast blinkers on purpose and we got by swapping over to newer tails....

With the hyper-blinking, the clearance lights up front isn't working either... it used to before the tail swap. But it's OK because I will be rewiring them anyway.
