CD player problem for SC300...
i didnt post this in the audio section cuz i specifically want SC owners advice and responses for this problem...
i bought my car in 99 in new york..it stayed there till 2001 , december when i came to atlanta....
atlanta is hot. after march, the cd player doesnt change discs due to heat. this is my guess because after 7 pm when its all cooled down its fine.
this has been happening for about a year and a half. the heat in new york is not as bad but in a hot parking lot its pretty hot in the trunk.
has anyone had a problem with a malfunctioning cd player? like this?
any suggestions are appreciated. im pretty sure this has to do with exceeding operating temperatures of certain components of the cd player, but im not sure if this is common....
also, how hard is it to install a new cd player , head unit i mean and run all the harnesses to the stock amp?
thanks

I had the same problem. I could comfortably switch CDs only during winter.
I got sick of all this mess, and changed my entire headunit to Alpine 9813.
I've been told that it's most likely the capacitors in the changer that have dried out over the years.
Try one of your local audio shop, and see if they can replace them.

there is a solution posted in the electronics section, i think the thread is cd adapter?? or something like that. anyways some guy says that you can replace the stock cd player with the 93 LS400 unit and it will plug right into the stock head unit and it will work just fine. it's supposed be a much better unit but it is only 6 disc,
