SC400, weight deforming front tires too much?
Hey guys.
I've had my SC400 for some time now. When I first bought it, it had old tires that were worn quite a bit. The front tires, much more than the rear, were deformed under the weight. I'd have them inflated to a few PSI within the correct amount yet the sidewall where the tire met the ground was about half the height of the upper part of the tire above the rim.
I bought some new tires about 3 months ago and they seemed much better, only deformed about 15% under weight.
Well... I'm back to where it was as the tires have worn in. They're at the proper PSI, yet the sidewall on the bottom is only about 1/2 that of the top of the tire sidewall.
I admit I bought pretty much the cheapest tires I could get, so quality might be playing a part here. But this squishing seems to be widening the front tires resulting in sloppy steering. Anyone else find this to be the issue?
I am running on the stock 16" chrome rims from the 1995 model btw. Also, anyone happen to know the front/rear weight ratio for the SC400?

Meh, same here but when the car is to speed the larger side wall tires expand and should have even wear. This isn't an issue with lower profile sizes. I have 16" OEM "tiger paws" with almost 30k on them with normal wear, probably still have another rotation left before replacement.
