Talk me out of selling my SC300

Keep your SC, you won't get anything for it unless you sell it privately - That is, if you love this car.
If the SC is paid off and if you can afford a car payment, get yourself something to DD, 4 door. Heck, even the older Lexus IS is cheap now a days, and they're super reliable. Hell, that's what I did..

So to everyone else that has replied to keep the car, would your answer stay the same if I replaced the SC for an IS (instead of the WRX)

When you have a family the toys tend to get put away in lew of more important family things. So if you have no place to store it, sell it & buy a mini van, put a soccer mom sticker on the back of it & enjoy life. Then when you get about 50 & the kids are all grown & gone , buy & build the SC you always wanted. Did you ever notice @ the Hot Rod shows it's all the old guys with the really cool hot rods

The IS300 wagon is more rare and pretty sweet. not everyone likes them, but you can fit kids, dogs and gear into it and still have a 2jz powered tuner car (so much better than a mini van). I still prefer a SUV for family stuff I don't think there will ever be a time when I don't own one of a 4runer/landcruiser/LX/GX they are just too useful and awesome.
I used to daily drive my SC, but if I had to put kids in it... that would be the end of the SC. Family first, no questions asked.

Personally, I would get a GS300/400, or IS300 instead. Though the IS300 is seriously over-valued if you ask me, people are asking $6k for cars with salvage titles AND 200k miles. I drove one, I was NOT impressed, it was slow, and boy did it feel cheap inside...reminded me of a Corolla, which is great if you like Corolla's but it just screamed "budget Lexus", though if I could get one for a good price I would go for it. The GS series are great though, roomy, fast (in the 400), easy to turn into a turbo monster (in the 300). If you need a 4 door you need a 4 door, and if you don't have the space, well, you don't have space. If you do sell it, try to sell it to a forum member, that way you know it will be treated well, and you might possibly get the opportunity to buy it back (done that with forums in the past).

I agree with this, plus most of the ones you tend to find around on craigslist have ****ty mods already on 'em or are plastidipped to hell (at least for me ). I'd go for an unmolested GS3 since you've still got the SC300's engine but with 2 extra doors.
