it's def not differential bushings since i have poly and it's definitely nothing in the rear, i'll check the exhaust stuff but it sounds more solid, like a thicker metal piece or something. still haven't changed the end links so we'll see once i change those.

Kris, is it possible for you to record the clunking sound? Do you mind posting a video? All of us may have a different interpretation of a clunking sound. We might be able to pinpoint it easier if we can hear it. Thanks!

Good idea, I made this today. I was removing the wheel to see if I could find anything else loose and I MAY have figured it out... SMH

If the noise is a "pop" type of noise then I had issues with my coilovers binding when making turns at times.

A bit after when I had my car raised (to resolve a separate issue) the shop initially did it by adjusting the preload. I had them go back and reset the adjustment and raise it by the shockbody. Whatever it was that they did, that also fixed the "pop" issue.

Wow, I've never seen a rotor hat move freely like that. It usually takes a rubber mallet or something to get them off the hub. Maybe pull the rotor and see if the hub has been obviously modified for who knows what reason?

I figured that too but after some searching and looking at some build threads with brake jobs some rotors have the gaps, some don't. I had a buddy walk next to my car in the street while I stopped and he confirmed its definitely coming from the driver side wheel well. This is MY issue but I doubt this is everyone's issue. If you have a clunking sound, check the space between your studs and hat, who knows?

I could've sworn that gap is normal, otherwise you'd be chewing up the thread on the studs. The studs shouldn't be what's holding the rotor in place.

When you torque the lug nuts nothing is going to be moving.

I hope you're right since it IS only happening on one side and not both rotors.. Hmm..

Post a picture of your hub without the rotor on it. if you look at the original rotor there are 2 small holes closer to the centerbore of the rotor. on your aftermarket rotors there are no holes there

That play that you have is NOT normal, regardless of torquing lugs or wheels off, I assure you it is NOT normal

My 92 SC400 does this and I don't have any annoying noises? Or maybe I do and I'm just oblivious...lol

i'm starting to get another clunk when i'm braking, but here's the weird part, it's only the driver side and it only happens at low speeds. say i'm driving 45, stop at a light and right before i stop, like 5mph or so, there's a loud clunk, and i can feel it in the brake pedal, WTF IS IT!??! it's so weird, and it only happens like once or twice when during each trip, or when the car is cold, i don't get it!?!
