where are the main O2 sensors located?...how hard are they to change?

Here ya go...remove the heat shield over your exhaust manifold and there they are.

The 400's have them in a slightly different location, but pretty close to the 300's in the pic above. The other 2 would be located after the cat- for a total of 4; 2 per side.

are they as easy to get to on the 400 as they are on the 300?

SC's can easily be seen on the 400 if you just jack the car up and slide under they are right there. check past post's from me. I covered this quit a bit

now what O2 sensors would you recommend getting oem ones or the universal kind from a auto parts store?

I highly recommend OEM ones. I previously got the universal o2 sensor but didn't fit.
