Please explain the significance of the cross-member? Can you post any pics?

The crossbar?

With

Without

Some people feel the original style looks too much like a Dodge.

We're designing our part so that the cross bar is not an integral part of the design. This way you can remove the crossbars without worrying about any potential distortion.

That's just so slick. But with the SC4, you'd have to find a really pretty (and colossal) radiator to make it worth while NOT to get the cross member. 1J and 2J guys need not worry since a bigger intercooler is probably part of their build anyway.

Thanks for clarifying.

Tough call....... I like them both.

However sophomoric, showing off that intercooler would be fun but it looks a little bit more "stylish" with it...... Hmmmmmmmm.....

I think the boosted car will get "without" and the 400 will get "with".

I guess I just decided both cars will get the poly, AC treatment....

I don't like it without the crossbars, doesn't look as clean, looks cheap imo.

I figured with a black car that the crossbar would be mostly invisible most of the time, and I HATE cleaning/waxing the cross bar area on my current car, so getting rid of it seemed like the smart choice for me.

What's the secret to getting a paint job as flexible and resilient as stock paint on the stock, poly bumper?

Flex additive.

That's why the shade of the paint on bumper/plastic parts is always a little bit different compared to metal parts.

Yes, I was wondering if there was more to the OEM process. I added flex once before and it did not hold up to flexing nearly as well as a stock bumper. Maybe they just did it wrong or with lousy materials. It held up ok, just not OEM ok...

On the red car , I will actually paint the cross bar and opening near the fog lights ... black ! I would like the cross bar in there cause it will one way or another keep the bumper sturdier and at the same time it can protect the Intercooler from flying objects.

Gerrb, man, I can't wait to see the bumpers on your cars! Trade your red one for my DSM?

What DSM and specs is that ? I used to have 3 3000gt VR4s, a green , yellow and red which was a Spyder Convertible. Got tired of them. Their transmissions won't hold a thing.

The red SC will not be the Red Mamba One with built 2jzgte, I want my SCs that make power to be stock looking.. sleepers..... .. but this one is Two, the one with stock 2jzgte / built ATF 340e TT trans
