Default 1/4 Drag racing time on SC400

Hi,

This is my first time running 1/4 mile on 100% stock 93 SC400. Here is the result at Rock Falls Raceway Drag racing on April 13/03 with 92 premium unleaded.

First run:

1/4 15.706 at 88.87MPH

Second run:

1/4 15.670 at 90.59MPH

Third Run:

1/4 15.663 at 90.93MPH

4th Run:

1/4 16.237 at 88.34MPH

5th Run:

1/4 16.242 at 88.39MPH

I'm out of the competition because of the slow take off and arrived 1/4 mile 16.242.
The Acura integra arrived at 16.363 and they let the intergra won??????
He took off 3 cars before I started to take off is that my fault ??????
Weird competition.

Sounds like standard "bracket" class racing. The Integra is a slower car, so he got a headstart. Regardless of the times( the headstart or "handicap" is supposed to even out cars in different brackets), the car that gets to the finish line first wins. The trick to winning in bracket classes is being as consistent as possible. Do you know why your times got worse the last two runs?

Integra is not a slow car, there are more than 10 of them hit 112 + in 12 & 13 seconds(75% are honda or integra). It is a cheap car but it could be very fast car with little money to spend on performance parts. Anyway my car engine is getting hot + outside temp increasing but at least I know my SC400 are too slow for drag racing(too heavy). If I put in 110% oct., it could make in flat 15 seconds at around 94 or 95MPH. I will try SC300 next time.
