Exclamation EGR or Torque Converter or O2 problem?

Hey gang. Thanks for all the info, I have searched and studied all your threads but still need your help.

I have the dreaded 40mph hesitation. I also have the chugging / bogged down acceleration from stand still. I also have intermitent hesitation or misses at cruising speeds. My question is this. What is the solution here. I have read of the EGR valve and the torque convertor being possibilites. But on none of the threads have people expressed that either of these hypothesiss solved this problem. Any ideas? I am certain this is a common problem, so someone must know!!

Also, if it is the EGR valve, what success have people had in cleaning it out themselves, and what did they use to clean?

Thanks gang,

as always, a blast reading these-

Default 40mph problem/ hesitation/ jerky

I have the exact same problem on my 95 SC400. At 40mph, the car seems to be in between gears or about to stall. Above or below that speed than the car runs fine. While accelerating from stop, it feels like the car shifts every few mph. All of these problem only occur when I press on the gas slowly.
I changed the transmission fluid, but still have the same problem.
I checked the EGR valve. It is clean. I also talked to a mechanic and he doesn't think it is caused by the EGR. He suggested I changed the TPS.
I have been reading some other suggestions in the forum that the problem might be from a dirty MAF, or a bad TPS. I'll try to clean the MAF first.
