basically it's a 96 sc400 with about 65k on the clock, interior is pretty clean, has a few dings, orange peel and run mark in the paint though. it has a salvage title, seller says its because the door was hit and he repainted the whole car?? i don't know why. anyways, it drives nice and he is asking 16k for it. how does this sound?
thanks

It sounds pretty good... .Just have it fully checked over by a REALLY good proffesional mechanic Finding a low mileage SC can be tough. If it is mechanically and structurally sound then yes, 16K is worth it (bargain him down as much as possible.) Remember these cars can go well beyond 200, 250 or even 300 K miles without engine rebuilds if you keep them up, not to mention the fact that Lexus's have the tendency to run LIKE NEW for their entire lifetime

honestly I'd NEVER buy a salvaged car unless I knew the condition it was in before, who worked on it and I TRUSTED who worked on it... which is very hard to do
16k should get you a 96 with 80k miles or so with a clean title...
if you buy a salvaged car with a crappy paint job... you'll regret it everytime you wash your car... you'll see the run marks and orange peel...
I'd seriously recommend choosing another SC!

thanks for the replies everyone, i did a bit more research and that is way too high considering the condition it's in. the guy was kinda shady too, he seemed to think it was a good price and thought a dealer would give him 24-25k for it
i plan on looking a bit more, but thanks again.
