Hello,
This thread is for a 2nd-gen ES300, not SC300/400, here is a forum section for your SC.
It does seem like the Wireless Door Locks in SC are set up differently from those in ES, as it doesn't appear like you have an actual ROM chip still, if FSM is to be trusted, you should simply be able to follow steps described here to enter the Programming Mode and add a new Transceiver without replacing anything. Try entering Confirmation Mode first, instead of programming a new key, it will show you how many are stored in the system already, not that there is too much use from that information, but it will ensure that the procedure works on your car, and you should be able to proceed with the programming.

If the OP knows how to get around this, it should work car-to-car for all of the Lexus models.
