Default How does everyone go about rolling fenders

I seriously want to know how everyone rolls and pulls their fenders. I know you can take it to a shop but that can be costly? anyone do it themselves ? Lmk about it if you did I'm very curious on the topic.

Not the popular or wisest answer, but pliers worked for me. I already had some paint damage in that area, though, so I didn't have much to lose.

The "proper" method is getting a fender roller (buy or some places rent). You carefully use a heat gun to heat up the area to prevent the paint from cracking, but not so ht to burn it. Then slowly roll flatter and flatter. Probably 20-30 minutes per corner.

Others heat it up and roll with a baseball bat. I've seen heating it up, jacking up the car, putting a phone book in the gap and lowering the car which would also pull the fender out a little.

Yeah thats about it. Pulling the fenders you can just yank or once you have rolled the lip in on the fender, just keep on going. It will continue pushing the fender out.

Eastwood fender roller and heat gun....

Its not that difficult....just need to be patient and once you get the process down it goes pretty quickly...

After the lips are rolled flat and you still want more you can start to pull the fenders out

My son and I bought a cheap wooden bat and a $15 heat gun from harbor freight and jacked the car up and slowly rolled it. There are alot of videos on youtube you can check out. The only problem we had was on the drivers front side the fender moved a little and we had to readjust so the door would open and close. If I were going to do it again I would probably put something in the door crack to keep this from happening again.

Was that side fender fully secured and screwed in? And it just moved? Not trying to have the same happen to me.

I did mine with a rubber mallet, but they were off the car and about to be painted, so I didn't have to worry about paint cracking (which it did).
