The movie have helped the car be known , no doubt . But there are so many other cars in those films whose popularity were not boosted by the film... why ?

The real reason why it is so much in demand ... is not because of the F&F . It is because they are RARE (only over 12k (NA/TT included) for the US market) and people / tuners came to know what the MKIV TT can do. You don't have to spend over $100k to get 1000rwhp from its engine.

Regardless of what car ... a car will continue to go high in price as long as there are people willing to pay for them at the price they are being sold... and the MKIV is one of them. How long... who knows .

OP - go for it , you won't regret . They may go up or down in price. Who cares... what is important is it makes you happy. That's how one should buy a car ... making you happy for all the hard work you do.
I agree with GerrB, Supra is expensive because of supply and demand not the F&F movies.

I believe the Supra will keep going up in value just like the Cuda has done over the years, the right hand drive cars will not have any impact on U.S. LHd prices, Rhd is only good for parts.

If you don't have one you should try to buy a Supra now even if its an N/A. Prices on the N/A's have already gone up 5k in the last couple years and will only get worse.

OP: Congrats on the new Supra, they are great cars.

Thank you all for such nice comments. I'm on my phone so trying to quote each and each and everyone of you separately is way too difficult but thanks again for all of the support!

The dealership was asking $49,999 for the car. After some negotiating we agreed on $46,000 out the door. It wasn't cheap but it's still a great deal for the year, color, and miles on this Supra. I am so happy about this purchase!

Not surprise at all with the price ... I have seen them being grabbed above $40k for a stock MKIV TT lately.

These kind of MKIV prices will help people like you and me who have the 2jzgte swaps on the SCs , especially with 6 speeds. Such cars will have their values appreciate since that drive train is going high in price too as time pass due to the demand. People who cannot afford the MKIVs will start settling with cars who have the 2jzgte swaps . A lot of cars aside from MKIVs and SCs are being retrofitted with a 2JZGTE now that is why the demand on those power trains have gone higher which made the JDM dealers increase on their prices too.... almost double now compared 4 years ago.

So enjoy your 2jzgte 6speed SC while it appreciates in value.

Juan, congrats on your new acquisition. You will be sorely missed on this forum.

Your ideas and execution of mods on your SC have been an inspiration and I am sure you will approach the Supra in the same manner.

Whoever ends up with your gorgeous SC400 will be a lucky owner for sure.

Best of luck and keep us honest as your input and opinions are always welcome.

If you had a 2jzgte with a 6 speed in it you would compare it all day long

Honestly it wouldn't. Supra is "Wow" car! SC's are beautiful but never been a "Wow" car and don't ever see it really going places. Can't explain but the SC will always be in the shadows compared to Supras.

I guess you have to own a sc built like a supra to understand. i'm talking about how it feels and not how it looks.
