The SC emergency brake handle sticks out too far. Can it be moved?
I have a 93 SC400. I put over 1,400 miles on the SC on a road trip this week. The car handled beautifully, but one thing that did sort of bother me was the position of the emergency brake handle. It just seems like it sticks out further than it needs to from the side. It makes the cabin about 1" more narrow than if it were not there, and can therefore be uncomfortable to rest your leg against on long trips.
I heard that Lexus moved the position of the emergency brake handle slightly to the right in newer model SC400's. Would it be possible to purchase a new emergency brake handle assembly for a newer SC, and easily replace the one in my '93? Any other ideas?

It's really just a lever attached to a cable. If it bugged you enough, you could just remove the whole thing and design your own lever just below the front of the seat, attach the cable to that.
