I assume ALL the SC's do this...
After closing the center console, when you rest your arm on the cussion, does it have a "thunk" noise, as it travels down an additional 1/4 inch or so, because the latch doesn't hold it tight against the bottom... This pisses me off.
Anyways, I found a fix. Go into your local Wallmart, Kmart, Ace Hardware, etc.. Get the Floor King "Ultra heavy-duty FELT" chair/stool foot bottom felt stickers. Apply the little pads to the bottom of the center console lid, near the latch mechanism, where there are two little plastic "bumps" on the sides, and it will take up that extra space.
The ones I got were brown, but a black sharpie fixes that pronto.
Now, when I close the center console, (Give it just a slight shove down after closing to get it to latch) And say goodby to all the anoying gap induced thumping when you rest your arm on the cussion.
WONDERFUL!
(Just send $.25 to me every time you get relief after doing this mod, to pay for my turbo system)

Hey thanks for the idea that pisses me off too. I've been trying to think of something to fix it with, and this sounds like it should work, thanks.
