So I come out to my car for lunch and find someone has hit my rear quarter panel what do you guys think this will cost to repair? Of course no note or anything was left so I will have to pay out of pocket. Anyone know a good body shop in the Austin TX area that they would recommend?
this has happened to me on different cars through the years.
as stated above the dent guy should be able to repair that.karma will grace people like that.yea it sucks!
Looks like they missed the body curve/edge, so that is good. Shouldn't be too costly. Dent shop should be able to knock it out. The paint should come off with lacquer thinner.
Most body shops can pop, paint and blend that spot in for around 2-300 bucks in my area, only thing that ends up happening is it's extremely difficult to blend sections together, in the end you might want to paint the whole car and in the meantime just have the dent popped out and buff the scuff marks out.
I'll look up a dent guy. luckily there wasn't too much paint damage. I need some body work done anyways but I am going to wait until I finish my engine build. Also looks like I wasn't the only one to get hit at work yesterday. at least 2 others were hit and we're saw by witnesses. now I don't want to park at my job any more.
I had a dent in the same area on my car. It was somewhere in the $2-3k range to fix on my car. They had to paint almost half of my car to get the paint to match, but even then they couldn't get it right. I'm sure you can find a shop to fix it for much cheaper.

crap I'm going to wrap my car instead of painting. I did stop by a dent place and he was able to pop out the major dent by pushing it in from the trunk. it's not perfect as there's still some damage at the bottom but will do until I get all my dents fixed.
Sorry to hear that man, I hate in considerate folks. Could of least left a note, smh. Well the dent guy seemed to push out most of it? I'd wait until you're finished up on the build and then wrap it. Either way, GL and keep us posted.

My mom did that once. She scraped the side of a vehicle in the parking lot, but she was in a hurry, so she left her name and phone number on the windshield. The guy ended up deeming it as a "hit and run" accident and took her to court. She lost then was going to have to take some extra driving classes but then the guy walked up and dismissed the charges and left. Some people...In the future, I wouldn't recommend leaving any scene of an accident.
Mine got hit yesterday, luckily a note was left with good info. There are cameras in our garage at work, but they all point at doors and exits, so they wouldn't have gotten the actual accident.
