Default 94 sc 400

after 12 years of owning this car the i think end is coming.
i am in portchester ny if anyone can find it a home.
most recent work done at the dealer, water pump and timing belt and all pulleys.
new ac compressor and evaporator.
new coolant tank.
new alt and batt.
new power steering pump and high pressure lines.
new radiator and heater valve.

it has an exhuast leak at the front cat gaskets,a dent in pass rear panel,a few small dents.
it still runs great, engine and tranny wise.

i think i kept it too long and and put too much money into her.
i still love this car but my wife is not happy about fixing anything else.
what do you guys think it might be worth?
on the one hand some could say its a wreck.
on the other hand with some exhuast work done and few other things i think it has a lot more miles to go.
i still drive it to work every day.
any advice on a fair price i would be very grateful for.
i hate to even post this here, this has been the best car i have ever owned.

Sounds like you've tried to do the up keep properly, you didn't mention mileage or post a pic so condition can be confirmed. Pricing on these cars is all over the place, but in general I'd have to say it is more than likely worth between 5000$ to 2500$ . I keep a pic of a 96 400 posted at my desk with 77k on it that they want 10k for as inspiration for my 96. You'll have to post a lot more before you can sell it in the classifieds here as per forum rules. These cars are getting old and most are getting retired to sunday drivers, or drift cars so it seems.

thanks so much for the reply.
it has a few dents on her and 289k.
i just found out i have a fuel leak at the fuel filter.
im sure its the original filter it is so rusted.
im hoping i can get it out but i dont think so.
so i will have patch in a section of line.
its just sad because it runs so well and has so many new parts.
i wonder if i could even get $2500 for her at this point?

Honestly I doubt you'll get more than 1500-2000 for her with 290k miles.

The fuel filter is a simple just messy install or you could just let it run down to like no gas because when you take the filter off/loose on one side gas will start pouring out until your done.

Buy some rust perpetrator/inhibitor its works wonders we use the ac delco stuff at work

Impact tools really help break rust loose where normal ratcheting cant

290K is a lot, and if it's got dents and cosmetic issues that's a very hard sell with the current issues. The maintenance is great, but it's still a 94 with nearly 300K.

It seems like you could get a few more years out of this car if you fix the current issues. That might be your best bet to just keep it for yourself a bit longer until you find another car you can decide on.

part it out if you have the space. Motor, trans, LSD, interior, dash...lots of possibilities. Lot more than $500 there.

I found a.filter at wallyworld that was the same size as mine and cut the Farrells off the old line, then trimmed the nipples down to length on the new filter and used high pressure gas hose and double clamps and mounted it all back in factory mount. No problems since, just be careful not to move the old line to much that goes to the tank or you can cause a leak higher up that requires some line replacement in a rather tight spot. Take your cap off to release pressure but it will still siphon from the tank, so have somthing to catch the gas with.
