Unhappy SC300 alarm question

Everytime I use my key to unlock the passenger door my alarm will go off. It then shuts off when I go around and unlock the drivers side door? Anyone have any idea why? Also, my SC300 is a '92 and I have the key w/ alarm but it doesnt seem to set the alarm or do anything when I push the little button. Any ideas. Thanks.

I can help you but i don't have the car database here. Drop me a few line and I will try to let you know what wires you need to check.

I agree with henrynguyen; you need to check the electrical contacts. My best theory would be that the switch that lets the alarm know that the passenger door lock cylinder has turned properly is not engaging either electrically or mechanically. Is the passenger lock cylinder loose or have you had some water enter the door as a result of window damage or old weather stripping? Personally, I'm worried about water in my driver's side door because the window will be wet when I roll it up even if it didn't rain today. I'm going to clean out the lower drains in the door to try to mitigate that. I do have one test or temporary work-around that may help you: unlock the passenger door and press the internal unlock switch on the door as fast as you can get to it. I know that I developed a work-around for my broken rear defroster once I determined it would be $1200 for new glass.

Dont want to hijack this thread but on my 96 with the lock/unlockt, trunk, and panic buttons on the rectangular thing that goes with the key, cant think of what to call it. Anyway when I push lock or unlock it makes the beeping sound but no lights flash. Are the lights supposed to flash on the 96 or is it just supposed to make a beep?
