The problem with my sunroof beep is that it is NON EXISTANT!

I had a 93 GS300 that beeped when not closed, I had a 98 GS300 that beeped, I had a 95 SC400 that didn't beep, I had a 97 SC300 that did beep, now I have a 99 SC300 that doesn't beep.

This is so confusing.

I called Lexus of Jacksonville, Hendricks Lexus of Charlotte, and Thomasville Lexus, they all are giving me different answers. Some say that it is suppose to beep if it is not closed in any position. Some say it should only beep when the moon roof is open, some say it should only beep when the sunroof is open. Anyone know what the real answer is? Does anyone think that it could be related to where the car was made?

i don't know my 93 SC400 beeps if its open at all but my parents 96 SC300 doens't beep at all and 99 GS400 doesn't either, i think they only had it on the older model cars maybe . . .

 

My 93 Soarer only beeps when it's tilted... if that's any help to you...

 

My 95 doesn't beep, but I have heard from other 95 owners on this forum who say theirs beeps. I am just as confused as you are about it, an no one seems to have a definite answer that I have seen.

 

It's only supposed to beep when it's tilted.

If it's open (sliding back) then it won't beep.

 

Exactly. I was just about to say that is what my 93 SC used to do before It left me.

It beeps only when it is tilted because if you glance up you could think it is closed (would have to be TOTAL out of it I guess, not to know that it is open) but if you have the sunroof open (fully sled back) then you would notice that. So it only beeps when its tilted up, I have a 92 300 and that is what it does on mine.

my moms 92 LS beeps when its tilted..
my 95 sc doesnt beep for anything.

If it is only suppose to beep when it is up, then why did my GS beep when it was open at all, and why do 2 of my 3 SC's not beep at all, my 97 model beeped if it was open at all.
