There's gotta be a color made that will look good besides the standard stuff. On car's like white one's a sunset blended backdrop might look ok. Perhaps a burgandy backdrop on white needles i think i'd like that on a metallic burgandy car.

Can anyone tell me if these bulbs will work in the dash cluster or will there be improper voltage supplied to it.
Arrrg! the [IMG] tags still don't work.

what's the latest update on this project?
Thang, those won't fly. they are direct focus. you'll get bad spotting.
p.s.- i have a thread in the lobby with your name on it. good references.

DIY is gonna depend on skill. The led's have to be aimed and crossed over and mirrored backing has to be placed throughout the cluster without creating and short circuts.
HOWEVER, i am trying the same project with SMD's this week and THAT could easily be a DIY since i have a plan. If i suceed, i will be doing a write-up by next weekend.

The start of a DIY :
here's a rare view under a magifying glass of the stock base and the new base of the waterfall needle. feedback appreciated.
new contacts are formed from metal pins and a new plastic base is cut and molded. then they are all mounted and trimmed to proper height and angle. expect a minimum work time of 3 days if you attempt this project.

guy's, pardon the mess of lights... this is my test cluster.
I wanted an opinion on leaving the back of the needle's open. there's a shot of blue around the base, and it shoots a line of blue across the cluster. i just want to get some feedback on leaving the rear open. ignore the extra bright bulbs elsewhere clouding everything up.

way cool I have a bad tach needle in the cluster on my 91 ls 400.. I would like to do some mods like this someday.. any instructions and details of the mods is greatly appreciated. Where do you get the parts? how difficult is this? I am not an electrical engineer but I solder pretty well
Thanks!
