Do you have a pic of the cut-off on a wall?

Now the problem: There is a difference in the color of the lights (see below picture). One is really yellow and the other is slightly blue. I swapped ballasts and bulbs but there still a difference. They are wired to the same 87 spade of the relay but have independent grounds. The wire to the passenger side light is longer than the driver side. Do you guys think that the voltage drop could account for the color difference?

I don't have a flast surface to test it on yet but when I do, I will get pictures. I just aligned it using my garage door.

i have the exact same problem. my passenger side seems a little more white then the driver side(battery side). The driver side seems more blue. What could be one of my possibility is that i bent the metal piece on the driver side in a TINY bit. also another though i had is that the passenger side isn't aimed straight. its a little to the side so i gotta go out and adjust it straight.

This may sound like a stupid question, but what retrofit did you do?

Dude, I just put Polarg M-6 parking bulbs in my headlights in place of those crappy blue PIAA "superwhite" bulbs, and the improvement is 500%. Cool white light actually *fills* the headlight, instead of a dim blue glowing spot!

Where can u get those Prolag M-6 bulbs? How much do they run? Is it basically plug and play or is there some custom work needed and if so how much? From 1-10 how hard was it? I can do minor stuff but dont want to get in over my head.

siniquezu,

Looks great man!

2 questions for ya. 1st, what do you use to bond the two parts of the headlamp assembly together? 2nd, did you do the retrofit yourself? If so, do you have any tips or pics of the process?

Overclocker:
1. I cold welded the two together after some modifications
2. Yes I did it myself and if I had the chance to, I wouldn't do it again. It's a major PITA for one person.

Was the e39 retrofit fitted right in or did you have mod it a little bit? I take it the e39 is the X5 projector hid.

As far as the rubber boot, you mean the gap between the lense and housing?

Thank
Dan
