Back Glass Replacemnt
Hey guys , hooligans/haters got to my baby while i wasn't home . I need an entire rear windshield/back glass replacement on a 99'. I've found on ebay/lexus south atl that apparently 92-96 and 97+ glass are different and asks for spoiler or w/o spoiler. All the auto glass shops in my area are quoting me 1,XXX 's ++ to get mine replaced. LUCKILY I found a guy who is parting out a 92 and is willing to sell me his back glass for $100. Will 92 back glass fit without problems ?

Sorry to hear about your car! Do you not have insurance? Why don't you just go through them? I had some as*****s break TWO of my windows (passenger front, driver rear) to steal stuff from my car... it would have been expensive to replace both out of pocket so I just went insurance. My premiums didn't go up.

Contact your insurance. My front windshield just cracked on day sitting in the driveway. Guessed the heat got to it. Insurance replaced it at no cost and no premium increase. Guys that came and did it said it only cost about $300 to replace the windshield though, so that $1,000 quote your getting seems very high.

The third brake light renders the spoiler/no spoiler windows cosmetically different.
Without a spoiler, the brake light is on the rear deck and the frit (black band around the perimeter of the glass) dips in the bottom center where the brake light is.
Otherwise, the brake light is mounted in the spoiler and the frit is consistent across the bottom. A small difference it is.
Do the 97+ cars have any electrical differences in the window antenna, defroster that would make the windows incompatible?

Hey all, was in a flurry to get the window on so I didnt have time to get back onto forums.
a) i opted out of glass coverage to save $60 for this year's insurance .... lol 5 bucks a month and I *****ed myself over big time on that decision
b) the 92 glass has different clips t han my 99, it fit like a glove, but I will find out on the next humid morning if my rear defrost works.
All in all i got the glass for $100 and installed for $140 , so OTD was $240 vs $500-1200 (called about 5 different shops all quotes ranging between). just gottta bite my tongue to see what if any electrical mishap is awaiting me .
Thanks all
