Unhappy Suspenion or rims????

Im not sure if I should purchase the suspenion fist or the rims.... PLEASE help me decide, I dont have but a month to figure it out and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to buy them both at that time! Im getting chrome 18's that I have wanted for a while. And I was going to go with Tein coilovers for suspension. What do you guys think?

Rims first....then adjust your suspension to get the 'stance' you're after.

Get your wheels first........ tires & wheels. You can work on the susp later. Make it look good. its not like your old suspension will fall apart if you dont get the susp first.

definitely rims. Your car will look so much better- suspension isnt as noticeable. I had the same dilemma a while ago and I went with wheels first. I still haven't gotten around to suspension, but I'm very glad I made the decision that I did.

Rims first then adjust your suspension to match the new shoes.

Suspension first. 18s on a stock suspension, with their low profile tires, look like offroad cars. It really doesn't look nice at all. I don't appreciate any car on the road I see with nice wheels, one inch sidewalls, and a 2-3-inch wheel gap. A dropped car looks much more sportier, even if just on stock wheels. Plus your taste in wheels will change often as you continue to shop for them. Wait for your tastes to get more refined before you commit. Also you want to get used to driving on a lowered suspension before you put on nice wheels. Less the chance you bend, crack, or scrape them. The Teins are fully adjustable, so you can change the ride height when you get you wheels, later.

i agree there will be wheel gap, but i'd get the rims first so you can tailor the suspention to the rims. getting the suspention first means you'll most likely have wheel scrub + you'll have to have the suspention reset again when you get the wheels. in terms of order, getting the wheels first seems like a better idea so you can setup your new suspention to the wheels. besides, it won't be THAT bad, hell it'll be rolling on chrome.

I have 245x40x18 on 18x9 wheels and the wheel gap is not enough to make it look like offroad cars.
Even if you get TEIN's now you will be able to adjust it later to fit the new wheels. I think the driving advantage of good suspension outweighs the charming good looks of 18" wheels.
I'd do the TEIN first.... then the wheels. well then again I would do all the bushings and sway bars before doing the TEIN's then the wheels...
TEIN's are also cheaper than a good set of wheels...

good luck however you do decide to do it.

I also happen to have 18" Racing Hart Evo C2 wheels with 225x40x18 falken tires 80% tread left I'm selling for cheap. It did need 1/8" spacers so I will supply them with spacers too and also with 15mm longer wheel studs to accomodate the whole setup. $800shipped to you.

how do your stock rims look like? if they are the newer style 17s then i'd say suspension. if they are ugly 16s (there are good and bad looking 16s) or even 15s then get the rims. in the gallery there are a bunch of sc with 18s without suspension and they look fine.

If you get wheels first your car will like a 4x4 for how ever long it takes to get suspension. I know I bought wheel first and hated the way my car looked so high

First I was going to say wheels, but I'd go with the suspension, It def outweights getting the wheels. We all know the the sc's look really high as it is, low pro's will further exagerate that; and you're getting the wheels to make it look better right? Since one of my 19's is bent and I havent got around to fixxing it,
I still have my gs300 wheels and tires on, I like the way they look on a lowered sc, I havent been in much of a hurry to fix my rim . So lowering youre car will give you better handling and looks, while the wheels may or may not give you better looks. Unless the wheels you have now are really busted, I'd go with the suspension. You really wont be able to fully enjoy your new shoes until you drop it.

My buddy just put some 17's on his new accord, yeah they look OK, but it def looks like hes ready to rally.

just my 2 cents, hope everything works out for you

So here's my situation:

I want in on the JIC GB. I'm also interested in the 18 or 19 Moda R6.

If I get the JIC coilover first (only 2 weeks b4 GB is over), then I can always readjust it later for the rims right?
or should i Just buy both at the same time and install them together?
Any ideas?
