Default Anyone have SC with IS rims pics??

I'm looking for any pics of a 300 or 400 with IS300 rims on it. Just trying to get a feel for how they would look. Thanks!!

This setup probably will not be recommended by anyone, because the IS wheels are narrower than the stock ones.

The rims for the IS300 are 17 x 7. I was told this would fit well on a 94 SC300. The stock rims on my SC are 15 x 6.5. Was I misinformed?

what he said! why not just look for some GS rims or something. they are similar in design, but wider. If you get the IS wheels, it will look like bike tires on your SC.

I saw one person on the board who purchased a set of is300 wheels with tires to put them on his SC... bicycle wheels is exactly what it's going to be like. Plus the wheels with the offset I guess seemed to be too far inside the wheel well.

You'll need new tires (if you're getting the rims and tires in the sale). GS wheels are wider, although if you are moving up from the factory 15" it'll be an improvement either way. If you're gonna spend over $600, I'd look for GS rims. Even the GS 16" rims are wider...

Gotta admit...those look pretty good. Unfortunately, I already bought the IS rims. I guess I should have listened to you guys before making a purcahse. Regardless, anything will look better than the stock-granny 15's that are on there now. Thanks for the advice though!

I am running 17x7" rims and I think they look fine.

If I could have afforded 18x9 and 18x10 I certainly would've gotten them

Sorry I don't have any really good pictures.... all pictures can be found at

They don't sit flush with the fenders of course, but the certainly sit better than the stock wheels. I am very pleased. Also, I am running a 225/45/17 Toyo all the way around, just in case anyone is wondering.

Those look great, not much like bicycle wheels at all! Can you get low straight on front and read photos so we can see how it sits?

Since the OEM wheels on the SC400 are 16x7 with 225/55 tires, I don't see why 17x7 with 225/50 doesn't look fine. What's the widest tire recommended for a 7" wheel?

225/45 is the widest recommended tire size. You can get a 235 on if you want to and probably even bigger, but you would sacrifice handling and safety.

I will try to get some new pictures sometime soon.
