Default Convertible SC400

On the D.C. Beltway tonight I saw a early SC400 like mine passing on the left lane. Just like mine except it was a convertible. Any idea who may have done this conversion?

That costs an arm and a leg, I personally would not do it, but it looks pretty cool. Auto-Couture has a few of those convertibles with the messed up hoods . - Richard

I think it looks okay from the back but there's a problem with the way it looks from the side IMO.

I'm wondering what it looks like with the top down.....do those side/back windows stay up with the roof down? That would Suck!. I like those Auto-Couture versions floating around....might be the combo of body kits and convertable.

Thats one ugly hood on that nice car

Sad thing is: It didnt even have to be that big of a hump... if any.

Default Depends on who does it

None of those conversions were done right.

IF u look at the black one...the rear window is bleeding into the ragtop. That's a ghetto conversion.
If you ever see picts of the Autocouture conversion..it's straight like stock.

If you are going to do the conversion it has to be done right. A half *** conversion just looks wrong.
Even the one from newport conversions looks wrong.
I've only seen Autocouture do it right.

I soooo Agree, The AC car has the best conversion!

We talked with them (Newport Car Conversions) about doing a car a while back and the price ranged from 11,000 up to 18,000

11,000 looked like crap....the 18,000 was REALLY nice! Powered hard boot cover, matching insulated headliner...everything fully auto.

ya get what ya pay for.......
