Advice please for for the lo tech guy (me). All my lights work EXCEPT speedo needle. What's the fix for just the needle. I've wondered if tach needle and speedo could be switched, but this thread has raised my hopes that someday I may know how fast I'm going! Please advise.

re-soldering would be a pain in the a$$ for all those wires.

Well, how big of a pain in the (you know what) would it be to break the screen, have to dig a few hundred bucks out of your wallet, buy a new one, wait for it to get here, THEN do it the right way? Everytime you bend the pins you risk breaking it on the spot, but either way it shortens the life of the LCD by creating hairline cracks in the LCD. Glad yours is doing well. So far.

There are different needles for different years. below you can see the white needle, the red needle, and the yellow needle. The red is used on the 95-97 ish, the white was 92 to 95 and the yellow are the ES needle's. they are slightly longer and have to be trimmed to fit the sc, but they do a very wicked yellow when fired with hyper white.

What you are looking at is a few sections of an smd i am building that are currently in the "Set" stage. As soon as they are all assembled on this platform, they will be straitened out, mounted and test fired.

small enough for ya?

Wouldn't it be easier (and perhaps brighter) to just use colored 194 bulbs for the back lighting instead of putting caps on clear ones?

Too big. And I would think it would be a bit difficult to get the wire lead needed to wrap around the base/holder.

As stated before, the bulbs are NOT 194, those are huge in comparison. Nothing about a 194 will fit the clusters, the base is too wide to fit into the screw locks, the bulb is too large to fit inside the cluster anyway. However, If you want to stick 27 watt bulbs times 8 bulbs in the cluster (total of 216 watts) into the speedo cluster, go right ahead. please take pics of the remains after ten minutes of operation

I've spent almost a full year designing these clusters, the 15th great idea in a row someone has to try in them 8 weeks from now, i will have done 6 months ago. There is only one right way that will balance all the factors with maximum performance. it's all in this thread.
