Well, I finally have done what i have always wanted to do. Below are the pictures from a sucessful transplant of a full set of red SMD's to the gas and temp needle. Also, the tach needle is all amber SMD's and the speedo is factory for comparison purposes.
This is the first time the 95-97 RED SMD'S have been used in the 92-94 clusters. As far as i know, it has never been done before by anyone. The needle's in these pics are all hand built SMD's aside of the speedo. If you have never seen a 95-97 needle in person, you are missing out. they are the most bloody red i have seen. they look just like the siggy in Azn's sig line of his cluster.
SO, below are the following:
Speedo- factory for comparison.
Tach- custom hand built amber SMD's.
Gas and Temp- Custom hand built RED SMD's.
The second pic down is of the speedo cluster with the tinted face in place taking a little of the glow off the needle's.

Holy that amber color is almost 100% stock like!
It would be something that I'd do for my SC4.
And that red needle reminds me of Darth Vader's light saber.
What's SMD by the way?

SMD is Surface Mount Diode. surface mount is 1.5mm in size. (vewwy vewwy tiny hehehehe)
The amber SMD and the stock amber is identical in person. the only difference you see in the pic is the tip of the stock dying out and changing the hue to a more orange color, but it was close enough for this test and i dont have a fully working factory needle (then again, most people don't)
I'd bet a $100.00 that you couldn't pic the two apart in a cluster side by side.
this test would have "looked" better if i didnt have amber backlighting in the cluster right now.
