There have been people in the past that claim the needle's led's burn out due to overexcessive voltage. That is BULL. The led's in the needle's actually are alive and well in 95% of all the needle's that do not work. I said this from day one, and now as this year has progressed, i have put together the proof to back it up. As the needle heats up, the plastic expands. While the plastic expands it starts to lose contact which results in a "dancing" effect. Once the needle has totally overheated, it will no longer cool down and make contact again and it fails to light. Unfortunately since the led's were molded in plastic, the cannot be reused. The voltage was not the problem with the led's, the engineers did a fantastic job, it was a contact problem that i called back from the beginning. The failure in the led's is the plastic. Here's how to peel apart a bad needle.

I did say part one... there are folks here that (literally) can't change a light bulb. We have to start at the start.
