Hey OLT,

On the driver side switches, how did you remove the driver side window switch button off the base. I got the door lock and passenger side window buttons off the base, but no matter how much I fiddled with the driver side button, I was not able to remove it off the base.

The passenger window and door lock buttons easily slid off the circular tab in the middle of the switch. But the driver side window button is different (assuming becuase of the auto down feature).

Previous owner had spilled soda in the buttons, so I need to do a thorough cleaning. I see that the factory used 3mm green LED's to light up the buttons. You think swapping to blue 3mm LED's (1500 mcd / 34' View angle) would work in term of brightness. I am sure the green LED's have a different Vf then the blue LED's, so I guess we are also looking at having to replace the resistors on the switch circuit board.

Let me know what you think? Tryin to create a little weekend project for myself.

After you swapped me to blue cluster needles and AC/Radio unit, I've been on a Blue craze.

I NEED BLUE MAN!!!

Thanks

it's the same light from a stock LS 400 ....the only other issue is that it comes with some sort of metal covering around the tube -that warms up the bulb,so it turns on and stays on...(temperature sensitive to cold)

O.L.T. Do you have anymore of the red covers for the dash board lights (#24) ? I would like to get the red ones since you say those looks the best right?

I have a question on the LEDs. Can you make them on the rest of the lights like the ones clear corner makes?

I am sure if you can make it alot more affordable then they can, there will be alot of buyers.

Thanks,

John

go to your local parts store and get the 24's

i've been quoted a million times saying i dont like cathodes very much. they only last 30,000 hours at BEST V/S 100,000 hours from an led. they are picky about temprature, they are fragile, and i just dont like them, obvious high cost also.

I don't hate them i just know a better way overall.

I am sure if you can make it alot more affordable then they can, there will be alot of buyers.
that's not relative, i don't make profit off this. i'm practicing (currently in the last stage of my EE degree, need experience)

Now this is pretty. I fired the blue led's into the NAK and did the voltage mod and here's what happened.
