if i am going to do a pure white cluster it is going to cost me...big. i have 12 pure white led's on the way. that's $180 in led's and the rest in resistors and supplies to build the needles and cluster. they are not cheap, but still better price than some. i have seen similar led's go for $25 each.

since i used the same leds i use in the needles, it is the first time the needles and NAK were a dead on match. unfortunately led's cant be used in the climate due to spotting, but the NAK is designed completely differently.
in the climate, the led's (bulbs) fire directly up into the LCD. In the NAK, there is one on each end and the entire LCD has a giant spreader. so no matter what you fire into it, it's always blended perfectly. there is no way to make it spot if you tried. It results in a beautiful LCD blue that matches the needle's. the ice blue caps actually look aqua when sitting beside the true blue LCD on the NAK when fired with the high output led's.

The only thing that sucks for us (by no fault of your own) is that people replace the NAK, but usually don't replace the climate control. This still ends up with a problem of getting the colors to match without spotting? Maybe an altered spreader design in the works??

spotting isnt a problem with bulbs, only with led's because they are direct focus. i have experimented with 180 degree led's but it still seems to concentrate in direct spots.

hey o.l.t have you tried taking the needles from the rx300? that is a white on white cluster. it would be awesome if you could do that. the white on white looks really nice.

there is not a single needle in the lexus lineup that is interchangeable. the es needles are longer and have a brown face, the gs needles are red faced and wired backwards, the ls are cathodes... etc....
