Chameleon LED?!? Woah. Wait, I don't think I would want that. Too distracting. Is the white cluster background LED based? I see some hot spots. Is the output brighter? I may be nearing a decision.

No. it doesn't have any hot spots at all, the glow @ 3k was an "orb" of reflection in the cam, but i am not building these. it costs too much to build and a good set of 24's with light blue sleeves are not too far off the look. the advantage is that you get a more silver white with the 6000k's like hid's. the downside is $200 in parts V/S $20 in 24's and some very thin light blue sleeve's to achieve a white-ish look.

realize when i say "too much" is because that is just in backlight led's, resistors, and contacts, not with needles.

now here's the 2k blues, look at how the base glows for about 3mm then look at the 4k how it glows all the way up, plus the blue is a little deeper. Basically, the 4k's aren't really "waterfall". More like the blue seen on the NAK a few pages back. it doesnt really mean these are "better" but moreso "different". they are however a little brighter. these are the strongest blues sold in 5mm on the market. i'm having fun using them for nightlights The 2k's below:

I'm really liking those blue needles! BTW, the vid was cool ..neat experiment. Would be cool for a show car display, but for everyday driving, it would be too distracting. I'd keep seeing the flashing lights in my periphreal and think I was about to be pulled over for speeding. Any way that the color shift can be turned off or even slowed down at will?? That way, you have it solid for the drive to the show, and put it on full shift for the show.
