Default well....

So, when I got Lexy version 3.0 with her burned out needles I set out on a quest to do this myself... see my old posts.

After blowing a fair amount of cash and getting misleading clusters from ebay, I finally sent mine to Lextech.

Honestly, this seems to be the route to go. Good LED's are expensive, time is valuable and this guy knows what he is doing. Worth it.

Thanks for the good service. You have some solid skills and talent buddy.

Default It doesn't stop at the cluster......

I have the ultra bright white background with the ultra bright white needles... This pic was taken in the middle of the day when it was bright and sunny.. So at night it is twice as bright. as shown in the picture.. The only problem with the cluster lighting upgrade is that it looks so nice that it makes the climate control and stereo lighting look absolutely horrible.. So it is almost necessary to do all your lighting at once or it may all look funny.. Something to think about with these cluster lighting upgrades.....

Anything is possible, but the cathodes are a troublesome brew. look at the LS sticky to see how much of a paint they are.

Do you know if you are capable of making a cathode 92-96 sc or es cluster and are you willing to do one, cause I want to see if it is even possible. You are probably the only person that would be able to pull something like that off.

Here is a pic of a cathode and some info
Cold Cathode lighting is the most commonly used form of case lighting on the market. Advancing on the standard 12V neon, cold cathode lamps operate by use on a power inverter, which converts the standard 12V input to hundreds of volts of power. This is done by minimizing the amperage, via the inverter unit (included with the kit). The end effect is an intensely bright and thin tube, the most popular form of lighting today.

Did a little research and its a little harder than I thought to install a cathode, but I think Im on to something and you r going to like this. here is a pic of a circlular white cathode that will definitly fit inside the 92-96 SC or ES cluster units, but the thing is how would this get powered without damaging the cluster or the car. Hopefully you have some input or have a solution but this is a start.

Here is another example of the cathode size, now this is a little rough but just so you get the idea and where the cathode would go on the other side of the cluster, now the cathode that I have on my hand has a plastic cover on it so it wont get any damage and will last a long time.

looks good from the back, now turn the cluster around and tell me how you are going to make that fit with the ODO and time in the way.

Looks like it will only work on the ES cluster instead since theres alot more space in it than the sc.

That's what I have been trying to tell you all along

The Es is different in every way. If you wanna see the inside of the SC cluster however it is on one of the first ten or so pages.
