Thumbs up Power Antenna Fix

I ordered my antenna off of ebay from glgdirect. It came in after a few days so I just had to wait until my first weekend to get it changed. Got exactly what was advertised at a great price.

Overall the installation was pretty easy. It took me about an hour to change it because I had the situation where part of the mast gearing was broken off inside the motor.

Problems I had:
1. Getting the mast nut loose in the first place. I didn't have the 'correct' tool since it wasn't simply losening a hex nut. I used the end of a metal file to finally get it broken free and then slowly removed it. Did get a small scratch on the paint. Just wasn't careful enough.

2. Actually getting the mast out of the car once the nut was lose took a pair of pliers.

3. Had to remove the motor assembly (pretty easy) and pull out the broken old piece of mast drive gear.

All works now and I'm guessing I saved $400 (at least).

regs.

Default

took me 5mins to install mines..
my mass was already broken when i had my car, it went up and down, but it would get stuck when it tried to go down. so i use to just tap it to make it go down, when i shut my car off.
Remove the nut with a flat screw driver, pull out the old one, pop in the new one..
