OBDII Interface
Has anyone successfully used an OBDII scanner and PC software on their 96 and up SC? (I think 96 and after is OBDII, anyway). I did some searches but didn't come up with anything real useful. I am just really tired of paying 50 to 70 bucks for some mechanic to tell me that I need to spend several hundred dollars fixing something, when I could buy a scanner myself for much less and have it pay off after one check engine episode.
That, and I guess being able to look at temperatures and fuel ratios on a computer screen would be pretty cool, too.

there are several products for this. one is Techtom. Evotuned had one, but unfortunately his port wasn't willing to accept it on his sc. it worked fine on mine while i was checking it out for him.

OBDII diagnostics
As part of a "put a computer in my car" project, I was thinking it would be neat to have the screen be able to display current information about o2 status, etc. etc, like the guy on www.dashpc.com did for anybody that has checked out that site.
I found this company, which sells their scanner and gives free software (for linux, windows, mac) as well.

I guess what I was wondering was if anybody had used a solution like this and been able to interface it with a computer successfully, as opposed to an actual dedicated device like the one onelasttry just linked to.
