Which one? 95 SC300 5-spd or 92 SC300 5-spd?

ICeD SC300's SC looks sweet. Love the color. I didn't know it was a stock color. Only down side... it's an auto tranny. I am looking for a 5-speed. I would definetly jump on it if it was an 5-speed. Thanks tho.
So what's teh verdict? 95 came with 225hp or 235 hp? Anybody confirm on this one?

Hey, another Legend owner joining the dark side
Hey are you on the Legend forums too? Those cars in your sig sound familiar....
Anyway, ALOT of your questions can be answered on the SC FAQ - found here
www.intellexual.net
You will find that this may even entice your appetite for the SC. You know what's even nicer? Your car can double, triple or quadruple that power with some time and money.....depending on how far you want to go.
That is essentially the Supra's cousin as you know...you can either do a full 2JZGTE swap, or with that stock motor (2JZGE), add a turbo manifold, thicker hg and a host of other items to get it around 450-500+hp. There is also a turbo registry on the FAQ
I know this is putting the cart before the horse, but you have options.
Most importantly, make sure all preventive maintenance is done as your first mod or mods.
To answer your question - it remained 225 hp/200 lbs ft thru 1998; but in 1999 it was 225 hp/210 lbs ft torque, and in 2000, 225 hp/220 lbs ft torque.
Good luck in your search.

My bad...
Sorry when I looked back I guess just the SC400 had 10 more hp for 2 yrs in 96 and 97, I was thinking it went for the SC300 also, but I guess not... Again I am sorry, hehe I WAS right about 2 yrs having 10 more hp then for the last it jumping up to 290, but I was wrong because it was not the 300s but the 400s.... But you learn something new everyday
Below is the spec a the SC400s
From 1992-1995, the power was rated as 250 horsepower @ 5600 rpm and 260 ft/lb torque @ 4400 rpm. From 1996-1997, the power was rated as 260 horsepower @ 5600 rpm and 270 ft/lb torque @ 4400 rpm. From 1998-2000, the power was rated as 290 horsepower @ 6000 rpm and 300 ft/lb torque @ 4000 rpm. Curb weight ranges from 3575 lbs. in 1992 to 3655 lbs. in 2000.
Hope this clears everything up

Finally drove a 95SC300 5-speed

So I finally got to test drive 95 SC300. I ran carfax report yesterday and came out pretty clean. Exterior looked near perfect, interior looked pretty good. Everything was stock. No spoiler. Only has 80140 miles on her.
I took it for a spin. First, I was some what disappointed about the power. (not so concerned about the power since I can double or triple HP w/ some $$$) SC300 is rated 225hp, but seems a lot slower then my 6-speed legend-rated at 230hp. But SC's tranny was definitly a lot smoother then my Legend. SC was missing little stuffs I could find in my Legend coupe - such as heated mirror, traction control, 6th gear , operable rear windows, autometic closing(suction) doors, and stuffs.
But overall the car was good. He wouldn't go for $10,000, so I walked. Should I offer him more?
BTW, anybody here did headlight coversion to OEM projector HID's (Audi or BMW projectors) into SC's? I did some research, but I couldn't find anyone. I did it on my Legend, and I love it. I don't think I can go back to halogen. Let me know if anyone knows more info about this.
Thanks.

ok....
welcome over
Listen....the 300 may be lacking a few things that are standard on the 400...
But seriously, the novelty of rear windows that roll down goes away when you see the love you get in this car. Much more respected by business people and women alike [if you are single], I mean, its a Lexus and classy design. Anyway, you already know that is the foundation for mucho power, and the dealer probably knows that. I would look up the KBB and go off of that to help negotiate....keep in mind its a buer's market, but a rare car may not help your case. Lastly, I have 4300k Autolamp HID's and it is beautiful. The beam pattern is nice and crisp, and the cutoff is awesome. Here is a link with a similar setup by Manaray.
