Thumbs up

Nice Angel!! Your reaction times were outstanding for having to use the e-brake to hold the line! Once you find some traction, I can see you in the high 11's just the way it is (once you fix your tranny problem of course). Hope it's not a major problem (yeah, I know, pulling the tranny IS a problem ) Hopefully it won't be a high $$ fix!

Good luck with it!

Angel, big thumbs up...I know that feeling at the track...especially one that is physically challenged.

I read your other post, and it reminds me of when my clutch was in need of replacement after my ex got it really hot. EXACT symptoms. Sure, this was not an SC, but same principles. Best of luck man

Thanks again for the replies.

I also mustered a 2.2 in the 60' on a later run, but I only ran 13.0 that run, I think because it felt a little choppy in third gear, it might have lost me a couple tenths. I think I could've gone 12.8 if I would've run all night, but I was happy with my times, so I figured I would get out while I was ahead

I will keep everyone updated on my tranny situation

what was the elevation of the track?
damn you where on street tires =\
should get some Falken Azena tires, the best semi slick tires ever.
not sure if they make them in your size

also power to weight ratio, how heavy is your car? 3200lb or so?
but you have the power of over 400hp, and weight almost like a supra.

Was this your first time at the track? because for some odd reason it sounds like it.

Elevation I am not sure of, will find out.
Yes, street tires, Toyo Proxy 225/45/17
I weighed my car on Friday, it was 3,620 lbs WITHOUT me in it, and it was 3,780 with me in it, so that is a LOT heavier than you were thinking. I have weight slips to prove it if anyone questions it.

This was not my first time at the track, but it was my first time there in the Lexus.

Damn guys!!!, all you turbos can't muster better than a 12.73 on street tires???? I'm still on a lowly 60-1 with stock compression.

The title is up for bids, please take it!!!

BTW... As to the question on the open diff and slicks... It worked for Jeff Hackman (SC300TURBO), to the tune of 11.90@115mph, so yes, they did help- at least for him. I don't know if that run was just lucky or his car was balanced to the point where he got both slicks heated up or what. All I know is it was 11.90 and he eventually broke the clutch that day, with clutch parts going through the engine.

I imagine that getting both slicks heated up could have been tricky, I dunno.

If you do slicks, be very careful, no clutch drops, feather, feather, feather, especially on the 1-2 shift. And if it even hints at wheel hop, get out before it starts.

Damn you NA-T guys!!!!

Don't you worry, I'll be all caught up soon enough Scott
I was also going to mention to you, after my first time to the track in the lexus, and
seeing some of your vids and time slips, I was VERY impressed, to say the least, on
your driving!

Driving???? I'm stuck in the same boat as Angel. 2.1 - 2.3 60ft time. I do use the e-brake to warm the clutch and load the engine just a tich. One tire can only hold so much. I officially have the slowest 400+rwhp vehicle at our local track, its a standing joke around here. DSMs with 300whp run right around me. (until they break).

While we are on the subject ... what are ... say ... the top 5 street tires 1/4 mile times out there ?

Is there a Lexus 1/4 mile registry ? If not, I would happily create one

those times are very good....considering tires and all..i went 11.9@115 on et streets and pump gas putting 440 rwhp... and that same night i started on street tires and was running low 13s...i couldnt get traction till the top of 3rd......
and so you know scott..i didnt break my tranny that night.......and i was reving up to like 6k and dumping it...amazing the tranny held but it did......after my 5th 5spd i went to the 6spd....should have done it from the begining.....
my car is still for sale if anyone is interested...Jeff

on street tires and was running low 13s
I'm curious what your dawg would run now with KDs, LSD 6spd, more hp, etc???? I'm sure it would at least be a low 12 or even high 11 on the BFG KDs.
