Default Redline to early!

I was in Italy today on the highway and decided to floor it since i just got my new tires, weigh and balancing done. I was at 120mph and i was just about at the redline. I couldn't believe it. whats wrong. I have a 92 SC400 that just went over 50,000 miles. I am pissed I thought i could get faster. I need to know what needs to be done to go faster! Havent done my 60k service yet i have to do it myself becasue the SC400/ Soarer never made it here so no one works on them here that i can trust at least.

did you have overdirve off? if it is off it will severly restrict your top speed.

Ok, by turning off the O/D it essentially downshifts when you are at higher speeds. This acts like a lower gear with a lower redline than your actual top speed. With O/D off the car will be good to around 125 then you wil have to turn it back on and go with normal O/D. Then you can hit about 150. Oh, I don't think power would affect your top speed anyways, pretty sure it controls your shift poins and control under WOT.

OD off just stops it from shifting into top gear (which, funnily enough, is the overdrive gear at 0.705).

Just like if it had a "3" on the shifter. Turn OD on and now you enable 4th gear. Should be good to around 140-145.
