For trackdays I have put some Bridgestone 540s Potenza semi slick tyres (225/50/16) on the stock 16 inch 10 spoke rims. Only reason I used the 16's is because the tyres are so much cheaper than 17 or 18 inch.
Street driving I have the GS400 rims with Pirelli PZero Neros. I have a set of BBS RC 18's with Kuhmo Ectasts 712 that don't get used any more.
I don't mind spending a bit of money so I got a $5 can
of black gloss engine enamel and attacked the standard wheels - if I like it I just might get them done professionally next tyre change.
What do you reckon.
Black or Silver.
Here is a pic of the car with black and silver rims.

The pic with the black wheels reminds me of one of those auto magazine "spy shots" of the new models with the blacked out wheels and covered up lights. I like the look on a track car, it may take some upkeep if the paint starts to chip, just re-spray 'em.

i was debating doing that too with my Sc300 cause i got a 2nd set of old stock chrome rims that have started to oxidize and maybe ill strip the chrome and paint them black...anyone know of a good way to strip chrome?
